Book of Acts

In the book of Acts Gifts are given by the Holy Spirit .. "Repent ye, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ unto the remission of your sins; and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit" (Acts 2:38, ASV)."And because ye are sons, God sent forth the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying, Abba, Father" (Gal. 4:6).Miracles come through the gift of the Holy Spirit when one fears the Lord .."and fear came upon every soul; and many wonders and signs were done through the apostles" (Acts 2:43).

Re: Book of Acts

 Act 3:1¶Now Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer, being the ninth hour. Act 3:2And a certain man lame from his mother's womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple; Act 3:3Who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple asked an alms. Act 3:4And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said, Look on us. Act 3:5And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them. Act 3:6Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk. Act 3:7And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. Act 3:8And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God. Act 3:9And all the people saw him walking and praising God: Act 3:10And they knew that it was he which sat for alms at theBeautiful gate of the temple: and they were filled with wonder and amazement at that which had happened unto him. Act 3:11¶And as the lame man which was healed held Peter and John, all the people ran together unto them in the porch that is called Solomon's, greatly wondering.Act 3:12And when Peter saw it, he answered unto the people, Ye men of Israel, why marvel ye at this? or why look ye so earnestly on us, as though by our own power or holiness we had made this man to walk? Act 3:13The God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, hath glorified his Son Jesus; whom ye delivered up, and denied him in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to let him go.Act 3:14But ye denied the Holy One and the Just, and desired a murderer to be granted unto you;

Re: Book of Acts

 Act 9:1¶And Saul, yet breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priest, Act 9:2And desired of him letters to Damascus to the synagogues, that if he found any of this way, whether they were men or women, he might bring them bound unto Jerusalem. Act 9:3And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven: Act 9:4And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? Act 9:5And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks. Act 9:6And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do. Act 9:7And the men which journeyed with him stood speechless, hearing a voice, but seeing no man. Act 9:8And Saul arose from the earth; and when his eyes were opened, he saw no man: but they led him by the hand, and brought him into Damascus. Act 9:9And he was three days without sight, and neither did eat nor drink. Act 9:10¶And there was a certain disciple at Damascus, named Ananias; and to him said the Lord in a vision, Ananias. And he said, Behold, I am here, Lord. Act 9:11And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the street which is called Straight, and enquire in the house of Judas for one called Saul, of Tarsus: for, behold, he prayeth, Act 9:12And hath seen in a vision a man named Ananias coming in, and putting his hand on him, that he might receive his sight. Act 9:13Then Ananias answered, Lord, I have heard by many of this man, how much evil he hath done to thy saints at Jerusalem: Act 9:14And here he hath authority from the chief priests to bind all that call on thy name. Act 9:15But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel: Act 9:16For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name's sake.
